It is true that Islam is a religion that is rahmatan lil ' alamin. However many people are distorting this statement to the understanding-understanding the misguided. Giving rise to many errors in religious practice even in a very fundamental thing, that in the matter of aqidah.
The statement that Islam is a religion that is rahmatan lil ' alamin is actually the conclusion from the word of Allaah,
"We have not sent you, O Muhammad, but as a mercy for all mankind" (QS. Al Anbiya: 107)
Prophet Muhammad Sallallaahu ' alaihi Wa sallam was sent with the teachings of Islam, then Islam is rahmatan lil'alamin, Islam is mercy for all mankind.
In language,
Grace means gentleness combined with compassion (cf. Arabic Lisaanul, Ibnul Mandzur). Or in other words of grace can be translated with affection. So, he sent the Prophet Muhammad Sallallaahu ' alaihi Wa sallam is a form of God's compassion to allhuman beings.
The Interpretation Of The Interpretation Of
1. Ibn Qayyim Al Jauziyyah Qoyyim in Tafseer Ibn Al-Qayyim:
"The opinion is more correct in interpreting this verse is that of grace here are common. In this issue, there are two interpretations:
First: the universe in general benefit he sent Muhammad sallallaahu ' alaihi Wa sallam.
People who follow him, can grab glory in the world and the hereafter.
Infidels who fight against him, the benefits that they get is disegerakannya murder and death for them, it is better for them. Because their lives will only add to the painadzab later in the afterlife. The destruction has been established for them. So, he dipercepatnya more useful to them than life settled in disbelief.
Infidels are tied to an agreement with him, the benefit for them is left alive on Earthand in the protection of the Covenant. They are a little more ugliness than the infidels who fight against the Prophet Sallallaahu ' alaihi Wa sallam.
Hypocrites, who showed faith in Zahir, they benefit in the form of terjaganya the blood, property, family and honour them. They were treated as other Muslims in inheritance law and other laws.
And on the human race after he sent, Allah Ta'ala does not provide a thorough adzab of mankind on Earth. In conclusion, all the people benefit from the coming of the Prophet Sallallaahu ' alaihi Wa sallam.
Second: Islam is mercy for any human being, yet believers receive this grace and benefit in the world and in the hereafter. While the unbelievers reject it. So for infidels, Islam remains said to be mercy for them, but they refused to accept. As if it says ' this is a cure for the sick fulan '. Suppose fulan not drink it, the drug remains said to be a drug "
2. Muhammad ibn Ali Al Shawkaani said in Fath al-Qadir:
"The meaning of this verse is ' it's not Our mengutusmu, o Muhammad, by bringingthe Shari'a laws, but as a mercy for all mankind without any special circumstances orreasons being an exception '. In other words, ' the only reason We mengutusmu, oMuhammad, are as grace. Because we are mengutusmu by bringing something thatbecame the cause of happiness in the afterlife ' "
3. Muhammad Ibn Jareer Tabari in his Tafsir Ath Ath Tabari:
"The experts disagree on the meaning of the interpretation of this verse, about whether the whole human being referred to in this verse is the whole of man both paganand devout? Or is it just the devout man? Some experts argue, the interpretation ofthat question is the whole of man both devout nor a disbeliever. Their underlying with the account of Ibn Abbas history in interpreting this verse:
من آمن بالله واليوم الآخر كتب له الرحمة في الدنيا والآخرة , ومن لم يؤمن بالله ورسوله عوفي مما أصاب الأمم من الخسف والقذف
"Those who believe in Allah and the last day, set for her grace in the world and the hereafter. But anyone who does not believe in Allah and his Messenger, the shape of mercy for them is to not overwrite the calamities earlier people, like they all mingle with or on terpa big waves "
in another history:
"Grace that is perfect in this world and the hereafter for those who believe in the Messenger. As for those who are reluctant believer, a form of mercy for them is to notoverwrite the calamities earlier people "
Another interpretation of expert opinion says that what is meant is people of faith only. They brought from Ibn Zaid history in interpreting this verse:
فهو لهؤلاء فتنة ولهؤلاء رحمة , وقد جاء الأمر مجملا رحمة للعالمين . والعالمون هاهنا : من آمن به وصدقه وأطاعه
"With the coming of the Messenger, there is a man who gets a disaster, nothing gets to nurses, although the form of the mention in this paragraph the general nature,i.e. as a mercy for all mankind. All mankind is meant here is the people who believe in the Prophet, justify it and stick to it "
The correct view of this opinion is the opinion of two first, as narrated Ibn Abbas. Namely, God sent the Prophet Sallallaahu ' alaihi Wa sallam as a mercy for all mankind, whether devout or infidels. Mercy for the believers God gave him instructions with the reason he sent the Messenger of Allaah ' alaihi Wa sallam. He ' alaihi Wa sallam include those believers into heaven by the faith and charity of the teachings of God. While mercy for unbelievers, no disegerakannya disaster that befalls peoples previously reneged on the teachings of God "(translated in a nutshell).
4. Muhammad ibn Ahmad Al Qurthubi in Tafsir Al Qurthubi
"Jubayr bin Said said: from Ibn Abbas, he said:
كان محمد صلى الله عليه وسلم رحمة لجميع الناس فمن آمن به وصدق به سعد , ومن لم يؤمن به سلم مما لحق الأمم من الخسف والغرق
"Muhammad Sallallaahu ' alaihi Wa sallam is a mercy for all mankind. For those who believe and justify the teachings he, will have happiness. For those who do not believe in him, saved from the disaster that befell the people of an earlier form of sunk into the Earth or sunk by water "
Ibn Zayd said:
"The definition of ' humanity ' in this verse is the only people that believe" "
5. Ash Shabuni in Shafwatut Tafasir
"The meaning of this verse is ' it's not Our mengutusmu, o Muhammad, but as a mercy for all creatures. ' As in a Hadith:
إنما أنا رحمة مهداة
"I am a grace that is awarded (by God)" (narrated by Al-Bukhaari in Al ' 369 ' Ilal Al Kabir, Al-Bayhaqi in the Syu'abul Faith 2/596. This hadeeth in Saheeh-kan Al-albaani in Al Shahihah, 490, also in Saheeh Al Jami ', 2345)
People who receive this grace and am grateful for the favors it, he will get the happiness in the world and the hereafter.
Allah Ta'ala does not say ' rahmatan lilmu'minin ', but says ' rahmatan lil ' alamin ' because Allaah wants to give grace to all creatures with leaders he sent the prophets, Muhammad Sallallaahu ' alaihi Wa sallam. He was sent by bringing happiness. He also saved mankind from a great tribulation. He became the cause of achievement ofa variety of goodness in the world and the hereafter. He gave enlightenment to men who had previously been in ignorance. He gave guidance to the menusia that were in error. This is the definition of God's mercy for the whole mankind. Even unbelievers benefited from this grace, namely ditundanya punishment for them. In additionthey are no longer overwritten doom be transformed into animals, or sunk into theEarth, or sunk in water "
Understanding The Misguided
The problems arise when people interpret this verse are haphazard, Leonardo's understanding of language and logic that is superficial. Or trying to impose meaning verses to suit his Eve. Among them are: understanding
1. Compassionate affection with unbelievers
Most people invited to compassionate dear to unbelievers, no need to hate them, follow their events, reluctant to call them kaafir, or even calling that all religions are equally true, and with the quoted paragraph:
وَما أَرْسَلْناكَ إِلاَّ رَحْمَةً لِلْعالَمِينَ
"We have not sent you, O Muhammad, but as a mercy to the universe" (QS. Al Anbiya: 107)
But not so the interpretation of this verse. Allah Ta'ala make Islam as a mercy for all mankind, however the shape of mercy for the unbeliever is not with compassionatedear to them. Has even been described by experts the interpretation, that the shape of mercy for them is to not great calamities that befell the people earlier. This is theform of compassion of God against the pagans, the companions of Ibn ' explanation of the Account.
Even the consequences of faith in Allah and his Messenger is despised any form ofworship other than God, hate these forms of opposition to the teachings of the Prophet Sallallaahu ' alaihi Wa sallam, and hate the people who did it. As the word of Allaah:
لاَ تَجِدُ قَوْمًا يُؤْمِنُونَ بِاللهِ وَالْيَوْمِ الآخِرِ يُوَادُّونَ مَنْ حَادَّ اللهَ وَرَسُولَهُ وَلَوْ كَانُوا آبَاءَهُمْ أَوْ أَبْنَاءَهُمْ أَوْ إِخْوَانَهُمْ أَوْ عَشِيرَتَهُمْ
"You will never find something people who believe in God and the afterlife, mutually compassionate affection with those who oppose Allah and his Messenger, even ifthose people, fathers or sons or brothers or their families" (QS. Al-Mujadalah: 22)
Note however, should not mean hating having to kill, injure, or hurt people we meet. As explained by Ibn Al-Qayyim in tafseer he above, that there are unbelievers that must be combated, and others should not be hurt.
Sura Al-Anbiya verse made 107 as evidence of religious pluralism is also a distortedunderstanding. Because the verses of the Holy Qur'an is not possible conflict. Isn't Allah Ta'ala himself said:
إِنَّ الدِّينَ عِنْدَ اللَّهِ الإِسْلامُ
"Religion that God approves of is Islam" (QS. Al Imran: 19)
Also the word of Allaah:
وَمَنْ يَبْتَغِ غَيْرَ الإِسْلامِ دِينًا فَلَنْ يُقْبَلَ مِنْهُ وَهُوَ فِي الآخِرَةِ مِنَ الْخَاسِرِينَ
"He who seek a religion other than Islam, then surely it is not accepted (the religion)from him, and he in the hereafter include those that loss" (QS. Al Imran: 85)
The person who brings the issue of pluralism may interpret ' Islam ' in this verse to 'surrender '. So all religions are correct as long as the surrender of self to God, they said. Suffice it we answer them with gibberish words of the Messenger of Allaah ' alaihi Wa sallam:
الإسلام أن تشهد أن لا إله إلا الله وأن محمدا رسول الله وتقيم الصلاة وتؤتي الزكاة وتصوم رمضان وتحج البيت إن استطعت إليه سبيلا
"Islam that thou hast testified that indeed there was no patron who has the right tobe worshipped but God and that Muhammad is the Messenger of God, behold, youestablish the prayer, zakat, fasting on the issuing of Ramadan and worked on the pilgrimage to the House if you are able to do so" (narrated by Muslim, no. 8)
Thus Sura Al-Anbiya verse 107 of this rebuttal, which was adlalah against religious pluralism. Because this verse is evidence that all humans on Earth obliged to embraceIslam. Because Islam's ' lil ' alamin, destined for all humans on Earth. Imam Ibn Al-Qayyim as explained above: "Islam is mercy for any human being, yet believers receive this grace and benefit in the world and in the hereafter. While the unbelievers reject it ".
2. Compassionate affection in the absence
Most of the Muslims are letting people leave the prayer, letting rampant prostitution, leaving women open their nakedness in public even let the practices of idolatry and reluctantly advised them fearing the perpetrators of immoral offended his heart if advised, and then said: "Islam is rahmatan lil'alamin khan, the compassionate". It is strange.
Whereas it is not therefore the interpretation of surat Al-Anbiya verse 107. Islam asGod's grace is not meaningful to the merciful absence of offender and letting them in kemungkarannya. Sebagaiman Tabari in tafsirnya Ath explained above, "mercy forbelievers God gave him instructions with the reason he sent the Messenger of Allaah ' alaihi Wa sallam. He ' alaihi Wa sallam include those believers into heaven by the faith and charity of the teachings of God ".
Then a form of God's compassion towards believers is to give them instructions forrunning the perinta-perintah God and away from what is forbidden by God, so they are reaching for jannah. In other words, if we also feel love and affection to our brothers who do immoral, should we menasehatinya and immoral that he disobeyed and ordered him to perform charitable goodness.
And attitudes needed in denying mercy immoral. Recusal should give precedence toimmoral attitude towards soft and affectionate, not give precedence to rough and tough attitude. The Messenger of Allaah ' alaihi Wa sallam said:
إن الرفق لا يكون في شيء إلا زانه . ولا ينزع من شيء إلا شانه
"It is not that there is tenderness on something, except will decorate it. It is not the softness of it missing from something, except will memperburuknya "(HR. Muslim No. 2594)
3. dear Compassionate religious deviation in
Another one that uses this verse to legalize various forms of bid'ah, and shirk khurafat. Because they assumed the forms of such deviation is the difference of opinion which must be tolerated so that they said: "Let us with our understanding, do not harass us, isn't Islam rahmatan lil'alamin?". It is strange.
Interpret the grace in surat Al-Anbiya verse 107 with compassion and tolerance of all the existing understanding on the Muslims, is the interpretation of that very much. There are no experts who interpret the interpretation of the case.
The split within the Ummah into various groups is a fact, and have been warned since long ago by the Prophet Muhammad Sallallaahu ' alaihi Wa sallam. And all the people who say that it is true and everything can be tolerated no different to people who say all religions are the same. Among the various classes of coursethere is right and there is wrong. And we have an obligation to follow the true, namely that in accordance with the teachings of the Prophet Sallallaahu ' alaihi Wa sallam. Even Ibn Al-Qayyim says about grace in surat Al-Anbiya verse 107: "people who followed him, can grab glory in the world and the hereafter at once". That is, Islam is a form of God's compassion to those who follow the true, namely that want to follow the teachings of the Prophet Sallallaahu ' alaihi Wa sallam.
The statement ', let us with our understanding, don't tease us ' applies only to the infidels. As stated in surat Al-Kaafirun:
قُلْ يَا أَيُّهَا الْكَافِرُونَ لَا أَعْبُدُ مَا تَعْبُدُونَ وَلَا أَنْتُمْ عَابِدُونَ مَا أَعْبُدُ وَلَا أَنَا عَابِدٌ مَا عَبَدْتُمْ وَلَا أَنْتُمْ عَابِدُونَ مَا أَعْبُدُ لَكُمْ دِينُكُمْ وَلِيَ دِينِ
"Say: ' O unbelievers, I will not worship what you worship. And you shall not worshipthe God that I worship. And I've never been to worship what you worship. and you never (also) become worshippers of God that I worship. For you your religion, and to me my religion, ' "
While to a fellow muslim, should not be the case. Even the obligatory advised whenhis brother fell in error. Any advance which should be airy received advice. Aren't people of faith that mutual advised in favor?
"For the sake of time. Behold the man really in loss, except those who believe and work the pious and charitable counsel advised in order to obey the truth and advisedcounsel that it may settle the patience "(QS. Al-ASR ': 1 – 3)
And advised people who do diverge in religion is a form of affection to the person.Even people who know his brother fall into religious irregularities but silence, he got the sin. As the words of the Prophet Muhammad Sallallaahu ' alaihi Wa sallam:
إذا عملت الخطيئة في الأرض كان من شهدها فكرهها كمن غاب عنها . ومن غاب عنها فرضيها ، كان كمن شهدها
"If you know of a bug (in religion) occurred in advance of the Earth, people who viewed directly and then mengingkarinya, it's the same as people who do not see direct (not SIN). People who have not seen directly but ridha against such errors, it is the same as the person who viewed direct (got) "(HR. Abu Dawud No. 4345,; classed as Hasan Al-Albani in Saheeh Sunan Abi Dawood)
Any disagreement could not be spanked average that all opinions be tolerated. Do we tolerate some Sufis who argued the five daily prayers it is not mandatory for people who reach a certain level? Or some people who think that prayer kejawen important ' remember God ' without having to do a prayer? Do we tolerate the opinions of the Ahmadiyya who says that should not make Hajj to Mecca? It certainly can not be tolerated. If all people's opinions can be tolerated, hancurlah religion. But those opinions are based on the evidence, the way the Saheeh quoted is true, use therule, then we can tolerance.
4. the underestimate the problem of aqeedah
By using this text, most people underestimate and reluctant to preach the correct aqeedah. Because they assume preach faith would only be divisive and hateful Muslims so as not in accordance with the principle that Islam is rahmatan lil ' alamin.
Renungkanlah Ash Shabuni word in interpreting rahmatan lil ' alamin: "He ' alaihi Wa sallam gave enlightenment to men who had previously been in ignorance. He gave guidance to the menusia that were in error. This is the definition of God's mercy for all mankind ". The Messenger of Allaah ' alaihi Wa sallam be mercy for all mankind because he brings the teachings of unity. Because people in those days before hesent being in error in the form of worship other than God the patron, although they worship to God as well. And this is the essence of the teachings of the Apostles. As the word of Allaah:
وَلَقَدْ بَعَثْنَا فِي كُلِّ أُمَّةٍ رَسُولًا أَنِ اعْبُدُوا اللَّهَ وَاجْتَنِبُوا الطَّاغُوتَ
"And behold, We have sent Apostles on each people (to call): ' Worship God alone, and shun the Thaghut '" (QS. An Nahl: 36)
In addition, isn't a problem this aqeedah which could determine the fate of a personwhether he will remain in hell or not? Allah Ta'ala says:
Real people who have (anything) of God, then certainly God forbidden himparadise, and its place is hell, it is not there for the people that tyrants a penolongpun "(QS. Al Maidah: 72)
Therefore, there are more pressing matters than this problem?
In conclusion, thus preaching unity, appeal to the true aqidah is a form of mercy from Allah Ta'ala. Because tawheed Da'wah brought by Prophet Muhammad Sallallaahu ' alaihi Wa sallam is the grace of God, then how may be the cause of the split of the Muslims? Thus the actual kesyirikanlah be split because of the Muslims. As the word of Allaah:
وَلَا تَكُونُوا مِنَ الْمُشْرِكِينَ مِنَ الَّذِينَ فَرَّقُوا دِينَهُمْ وَكَانُوا شِيَعًا ۖ كُلُّ حِزْبٍ بِمَا لَدَيْهِمْ فَرِحُونَ
"Do not include those who have God, i.e. people who are breaking their religion and they became a couple classes. Each group feels proud of what exists on the them "(QS. AR: Ruum 31-32)
A Correct Understanding
Based on the interpretation of the scholars of tafseer trusted experts, some avail we can take from this verse is:
1. In sending the Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu ' alaihi Wa sallam as Allah's Apostle is a form of God's compassion to all human beings.
2. All humans on earth are required to embrace Islam.
3. The laws and rules of jurisprudence in Islam is a form of affection of Allaah to his creatures.
4. Benefit all mankind he sent Muhammad Sallallaahu ' alaihi Wa sallam
5. Perfect grace is only obtained by people who believe in the teachings brought by the Prophet Sallallaahu ' alaihi Wa sallam
6. Benefit all mankind he sent Muhammad Sallallaahu ' alaihi Wa sallam.
7. People who believe in the teachings brought by the Prophet Sallallaahu ' alaihi Wa sallam, confirming he and obedient to him, will get the happiness in the world and the hereafter.
Infidels who fight Islam also received grace with he sent prophet Muhammad peace and blessings, that anyone with a war against them. Because of their physical lives longer will only add to the pain the torment of hell in the afterlife.
8. Infidels-bound Covenant with the House of muslimin too got grace with he sent prophet Muhammad peace and blessings. The ban of the killing and seized their property.
9. In General, the unbelievers got grace with he sent prophet Muhammad peace and blessings be avoided from adzab which overwrites the earlier peoples who oppose God. So after he sent the Prophet Muhammad Sallallaahu ' alaihi Wa sallam, there will be no House of the heathen be punished by way of a sunk entirely or be immersed into the Earth entirely or converted into an animal entirely.
10. The hypocrites who claim to believe in verbal but arsenal hearts also got grace withhe sent prophet Muhammad sallallaahu ' alaihi Wa sallam. They benefited form terjaganya the blood, property, family and honour them. They were treated as other Muslims in inheritance law and other laws. But in the next future God will put them at the bottom of hell.
11. The dispatch of Prophet Muhammad Sallallaahu ' alaihi Wa sallam became mercy because he has given enlightenment to humanity that originally in ignorance and give guidance to humanity that originally were in error in the form of worship to other than God.
12. Some scholars argue, grace in this paragraph are granted also to the unbelievers but they refused. So only believers who get it.
13. Some scholars argue, grace in this paragraph are only given believers.
May Allah Ta'ala always bestows his grace to us all, which causes his mercy that wecollected in jannnah
Alhamdulillahiladzi bini'matihi tatimmush shalihat ...
